Off Duty (off-duty.online) is an online marketplace that connects event organizers and employers ("Employers") with off-duty first responders, medical professionals and event staff ("Workers") who want to pick up per-diem shifts at concerts, festivals, fairs and other events. Off Duty is not an employer, staffing agency or security or medical provider. Workers are independent contractors of the Employers they work for, not employees of Off Duty.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to use Off Duty. Workers must hold every license, certification and credential required for the shifts they claim, and must keep them current.
You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for all activity under your account. Information you provide, including credentials, licenses and employer details, must be accurate and kept up to date.
Workers upload credentials for review. Verification by Off Duty is a basic check and is not a guarantee of a Worker's qualifications, conduct or fitness for a particular shift. Employers remain responsible for confirming that Workers meet their event's requirements.
Workers who are sworn officers, firefighters, EMS or hospital staff are responsible for following their department's or employer's rules on off-duty and secondary employment, including getting any required approval before claiming a shift.
Employers set shift details and the Worker's posted rate. Employers pay the posted rate plus a platform fee shown before posting or confirming a shift. Payments are processed by our payment provider, and Worker payouts are made after a shift is completed and approved. Payments for shifts found through Off Duty must be made through the platform.
Cancellations and no-shows disrupt events. Repeated late cancellations or no-shows by Workers or Employers may lead to fees, lower visibility or account suspension. Refunds for cancelled shifts follow the policy shown at the time of booking.
Harassment, discrimination, fraud, misrepresenting credentials, working while impaired, or asking anyone to act outside the law or their scope of practice is prohibited and may result in immediate removal from Off Duty.
Employers are responsible for event safety, site conditions and any insurance their event requires. Off Duty provides the platform "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, Off Duty is not liable for injuries, losses or damages arising from any shift, event or interaction between users, and our total liability is limited to the fees we received from you in the prior 12 months.
